چکیده

In Special Relativity there are infinitely many equivalence classes of frames of reference. In each such class every two frames of reference move uniformly with respect to one another. It appears that the following questions have never been asked : In which of such equivalence classes of frames of reference is Special Relativity supposed to hold ? How can we identify such a class, and do so theoretically or empirically ? 1. Equivalence classes of frames of reference The two principles of Special Relativity, Einstein [2, p. 39], Durell [p. 30], are : 1. There is no absolute motion. Consequently, it is not possible to detect uniform motion. Furthermore, in two frames of reference which move uniformly with respect to one another, the laws of physics are the same. 2. In all forms of wave motion, the velocity of the wave propagation does not depend on the velocity of the source. Consequently, the velocity of light propagation in vacuum does not depend on the velocity of its source.

A logic road from special relativity to general relativity

We present a streamlined axiom system of special relativity in first-order logic. From this axiom system we “derive” an axiom system of general relativity in two natural steps. We will also see how the axioms of special relativity transform into those of general relativity. This way we hope to make general relativity more accessible for the non-specialist.

What Is Categorical Relativity?

The categorical relativity is a groupoid category of massive bodies in mutual motions. The relative velocity is defined to be the basis-free and coordinate-free binary morphism. In categorical relativity there is no need to distinguish separately the constant relative velocities (special relativity) from the variable accelerated velocities, hence the categorical relativity goes beyond boundary ...

Tensors and Special Relativity

While you have probably used tensors of rank 1, i.e vectors, in special relativity, relativity is most efficiently expressed in terms of tensor algebra. General relativity, however, requires tensor algebra in a general curvilinear coordinate system. Before discussing special relativity, it will be useful to introduce some of the mathematics of differential forms in a general curvilinear set of ...
